On-line Courses are Up and Running
Now everyone has the opportunity to learn the how, where, when and why's of the manufactured housing industry and never leave the comfort of their soft arm chair or the shine of their computer screen. The Manufactured Housing Educational Institute (MHEI) has developed a new online course that provides a broad overview of the industry, including its history, regulation and business practices. The program has been designed with the retail sales person in mind so that he can speak with confidence and knowledge when addressing consumer questions. The course is also ideal for any new employee who is career minded and wants to improve his knowledge of the industry. This course walks the attendee through courses such as :
- History of Manufactured Housing
- How Manufactured Homes are Built
- Overview of the HUD Code and the retailer's responsibility under the HUD Code
- Differences between Manufactured and Modular Housing
- Placement Options for Manufactured Homes
- Transportation and Installation
- Installation on a Private Home Site
- Zoning and Manufactured Home Placement
- Overview of Manufactured Housing Finance
- Truth in Lending Regulations
Fair Housing Act and Americans with Disabilities Act
There are quizzes throughout the course and a final exam when you have completed. With an on-line course you have the ability to start, go back and review and complete the course on your own time schedule. This online course is superseding the "Professional Housing Consultant (PHC) course previously offered by PMHA.
